Poteau girls win, boys take second at Heavener

Poteau’s girls track and field team won two of the four relay events while claiming the overall victory at the Heavener meet on Tuesday.

Poteau won the 4x100meter relay in 50.93 seconds, beating Idabel by 0.66 seconds. Poteau won the 4x200-meter relay in 1:47.43, beating Idabel by 3.39 seconds.

Poteau took second in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:24.6, 1.35 seconds behind Idabel. Poteau was second in the 4x800-meter relay in 11:18.9, 6.79 seconds behind Warner.

Emery Lomon and Brooklyn Garner finished 1-2 in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events. Lomon won the 100 in 12.24 seconds, 0.06 seconds ahead of Garner. Lomon finished the 200 in 25.19 seconds, 0.26 seconds ahead of Garner.

Poteau had the top three finishers in the twomile run with Alexe Pickle winning in 12:53.68, Chloe Wiles second in 13:36.12 and Purcell third in 13:45.05. Heavener’s Destiny Lawson was sixth in 14:09.59.

Poteau had three of the top four finishers in the mile run with Pickle winning in six minutes, Alessia Osterhaut second in 6:09.14 and Wiles fourth in 6:21.45. Heavener placed Lawson fifth in 6:21.55 and Allison Palmer sixth in 6:31.1.

Poteau’s Kenzie Green was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.34 seconds. Green was fifth in the long jump at 14-3.25 while Savannah Bryan was fifth at 14-1.5.

Poteau’s Ava Zink was second in the 400-meter run in 1:04.18.

Poteau’s Chyanne Brickell was second in discus at 100-8 while Maggie Wheat was fourth at 86-2 and Briley Bowman was fifth at 83-1.

Gracyn Soehlman was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:43.98. Soehlman was fifth in the high jump at 4-6.

Poteau’s boys took second in the meet behind Idabel.

Poteau’s Tyler Baker won the 800-meter run in 2:07.09, followed by Pocola’s Garrett Scott in second in 2:09.86 and Heavener’s Steven Cruz third in 2:11.24.

Baker and Stihl Snyder gave Poteau a 1-2 punch in the mile run with Baker finishing in 4:46.4 and Snyder in 4:52.68.

Snyder took second in the two-mile run in 10:35.86 while Alex Martinez was third in 10:36.23.

Wister’s Coda Ollar won the 300-meter hurdles in 42.67 seconds. Heavener’s Tony Adkins was fourth in 43.97 seconds and Isaac Cook was fifth in 44.76 seconds.

Ollar was second in 110-meter hurdlesin 15.38 seconds.

Poteau was second in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:40.55, 0.18 seconds behind Idabel.

Poteau’s Jace Hall was second in the 200-meter dash in 23.5 seconds. Caleb Andrews was sixth in 23.99 seconds.

Poteau was third in the 4x100-meter hurdles in 45.38 seconds.

Poteau’s Mason Honeycutt was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.15 seconds.

Poteau was second in the 4x200-meter dash in 1:33.69.

Poteau won the 4x800meter relay in nine minutes.

Pocola’s Garrett Scott was third in the long jump at 18-3 with Dakota Terrell fourth at 18-2.5. Spiro’s Dalton Dollar was third in discus at 124-1 and fourth in shotput at 40-10.
